FICOSA and DENSO will close an agreement for creation of a Joint Venture with the focus in image processing and recognition software development, aiming to the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) market.
The new company builds on the existing ADASENS GmbH structure, located in Weissensberg (Germany) and currently property of FICOSA, which happen to be a JV 50/50 with DENSO. The transaction is expected to be completed at the end of 2013 following relevant required procedures.
The agreement seeks to join efforts, to promote the synergies in the investment in research in the area of the ADAS systems and to accelerate the time to market of the new technologies. Both companies will emerge strengthened with technological leadership in the ADAS system field.
Likewise it implies a FICOSA’s strong commitment to continue investing in the technologies and active safety systems to avoid accidents and to protect the occupants across the technologies of recognition of image for the detection of obstacles around the vehicle. An annual growth superior to 25 % is expected in this market in the next years and FICOSA is currently already collaborating with several car manufacturers in the development of applications based on this technology.
